Your right to enter a country and the supplier’s permission answer different questions. You may be allowed to enter while the vehicle or its protection is not permitted. Give the supplier the complete list of planned countries, even for transit, then confirm documents, restrictions and fees. Check personal entry requirements with the relevant authorities.
A ferry is a use that needs checking
Even within one country, taking the vehicle by sea may be restricted or subject to conditions. Clarify the route, risks covered aboard and assistance at the destination. The ferry operator may also have requirements. For a day on an island without driving, compare travelling on foot: it may avoid paying to transport a car that will sit in a car park.
Price a one-way rental properly
Returning in another city can save time while adding a fee. Compare the total with a loop: fuel, a possible overnight stay, mileage and fatigue matter too. The return location must appear in the accepted offer. Finding offices of the same brand at two airports does not prove that your one-way rental is permitted.
Keep usable confirmation
Keep written confirmation with the booking, countries and dates concerned. If the route changes, request an update before travelling. General information on a blog does not replace permission under your own agreement. Without a clear answer, use a permitted route or another transport option rather than discovering an exclusion at the border.
