When is a car useful?

For a touring trip, plan realistic stages and avoid turning the first day after a flight into a very long drive. Durrës and Berat may fit an itinerary, depending on your interests and time. For a stay limited to Tirana, compare renting with getting around without a car and check parking before booking.

Prepare your airport collection

Verify TIA, the handover address and meeting arrangements. Being listed on an airport page guarantees neither an in-terminal desk nor continuous opening. For a delayed flight, know whom to contact and how long the reservation is held. Photograph the vehicle with the supplier and have existing damage recorded on the collection report.

Choose your car and understand the costs

Choose the car around your roads, luggage and driving experience. For tracks or mountain stages, explicitly ask about restrictions; extra ground clearance does not remove contractual exclusions. If your route continues into Montenegro or elsewhere, check permission, assistance and documents. Compare included mileage and the cost of any excess mileage too.

The detail not to miss

A navigation app’s estimated time is not a guarantee for your journey.

Questions before you book

Is a 4×4 required for a rental in Tirana?

There is no answer for every route. Define your roads and ask for a vehicle permitted for those uses. An SUV’s contract may still exclude tracks.

Can I leave the deposit in cash?

Do not assume so. Accepted payment methods and the required cardholder name depend on the offer. Obtain confirmation before paying for your booking.
