When is a car useful?
Pag, Šibenik or a park visit may fit your route. Map the stops and compare a loop with staying in several places. If your days focus on Zadar’s old town, check whether a partial rental is enough. For excursions, verify site access, bookings and conditions separately: having a car does not guarantee admission.
Collecting your car at ZAD Airport
Read the collection point for your ZAD offer and save the supplier’s contact before travelling. If there is little time between landing and another booking, add a buffer: queues, shuttles or document checks can take time. On return, follow the drop-off instructions rather than simply navigating to the airport pin.
Choose your car and understand the costs
Compare a small car with a compact based on luggage and comfort for your driving stages. For return in Split or Dubrovnik, request the full one-way cost. Tell the supplier about ferry or cross-border plans. Finally, check included mileage: an offer that suits a short stay may be less suitable for a long route.
The detail not to miss
Park or island visits may require bookings separate from the car rental.
Questions before you book
Can Zadar be the start of a one-way coastal route?
Yes as an itinerary, but availability and fees for a different return location must be confirmed in the chosen offer.
Should I choose unlimited mileage?
Estimate your route and allow a buffer. Compare a limited-mileage price and its excess charges with an unlimited-mileage offer.

Check before you buy
- Your phone must support eSIM and be unlocked by your carrier.
- Check the covered countries, included data, validity period and when the plan starts. Coverage and speed depend on the network and location.
- Do not assume that standard calls and SMS are included. Download maps and tickets for offline use too; buying an eSIM is separate from renting a car.
