When is a car useful?
Allow a calm familiarisation drive before outings towards Coral Bay or Polis. An SUV does not itself authorise an unpaved Akamas route. Obtain written confirmation for your intended roads and coverage exclusions. For crossing towards the island’s north, never assume the contract’s permission and protection remain valid.
Collecting your car at PFO Airport
Check airport code PFO, your flight terminal, the exact collection address and whether a shuttle is involved. Keep the supplier’s phone number and late-flight procedure. For return, allow for the fuel requirement, vehicle inspection and journey to the terminal; the desk is not necessarily next to your departure gate.
Choose your car and understand the costs
Compare boot space, transmission and equipment you actually need. Read payment-card, deposit and excess conditions separately. Add mandatory charges and chosen extras to the cost, but not a deposit that is only temporarily held. A particular model is guaranteed only if the contract explicitly confirms it.
The detail not to miss
List every planned country before booking, even for a short excursion. Ask for written permission, required documents, coverage and fees for each border. Returning the car in another country must be accepted separately. Ferry travel also needs an explicit check: these options depend on the supplier and selected vehicle.
Questions before you book
Is the security deposit included in the price?
The security deposit is separate from the rental cost and may hold funds on a card. Check the amount, accepted card type and cardholder name in your chosen offer’s conditions. Extra coverage does not automatically remove the deposit requirement.
Can I return the car at another office?
Only when the supplier accepts that route and the booking specifies the correct return location. Check any one-way fees before paying; a different city or country is not automatically included.
