When is a car useful?

If staying in a riad, ask how to reach it with luggage and where to park. For a trip towards Essaouira or outside Marrakech, compare renting only for the driving days. For an Atlas route, use current road information and allow sufficient time: distance alone does not describe how demanding the journey is.

Prepare your airport collection

For RAK, check the exact address and collection method: a desk, meeting point or shuttle depending on the offer. Keep a working contact and ask about flight delays. At collection, take time to read the inspection record and have existing damage noted. Check fuel and promised accessories before leaving.

Choose your car and understand the costs

Do not automatically book a larger category assuming it permits every track. Ask specifically about exclusions, assistance and protection for tyres, glass and the underbody. The deposit is separate from the excess and rental price. Check the cardholder-name requirement, deposit currency and required available balance.

The detail not to miss

Tracks and off-road driving are not automatically covered by an SUV rental.

Questions before you book

Do I need a car to visit the medina?

Not necessarily. Ask your accommodation about access and compare transfers with renting only for trips outside the city.

Does extra protection remove the deposit?

Not automatically. Reimbursement-based protection may leave the supplier’s deposit unchanged. Read the two sets of conditions separately.
